Location Guide

The right location helps shape the mood, energy, and feeling of your photo session. Below is a curated list of some of my favourite places to shoot, each offering a unique look and atmosphere. As you read through, notice what you are drawn to. There is no right or wrong choice, only what feels most like you.

OPEN FIELDS

Best time of day: 1 to 2 hours before sunset

Recommendations: Bells Rapids (photo to left), Perry’s Paddock

Wide open fields give us that soft, dreamy golden light that photographs beautifully. The glow is romantic, flattering, and peaceful, creating a sense of calm and intimacy. As the sun dips lower, the light wraps gently around you, making this location a timeless favourite for relaxed, heartfelt images.

Beachside bliss

Best time: Early morning or sunset

Recommendations: Leighton, City Beach, North Beach, Point Perron

The beach offers open skies, soft sand, and beautiful neutral tones that feel effortless and relaxed. Sunset sessions are especially stunning, with calm light and warm hues that create a natural, romantic feel. Bare feet, flowing fabrics, and a little sea breeze all add to the magic.

With dunes, grasses, rocky textures, and sparkling water, the beach gives us incredible variety in one location. Sunrise and golden hour are particularly beautiful here, creating images that feel natural, windswept, and full of life.

AT YOUR HOME

Best time: Late morning or early afternoon for soft indoor light

At home sessions are cosy, nostalgic, and deeply personal. This is your space, your routines, and your everyday moments captured just as they are. Whether it is quiet cuddles on the couch, preparing a nursery, or simply being together in your own environment, these sessions feel intimate and meaningful.

Fremantle and City Backdrops

Fremantle offers a beautiful mix of heritage buildings, textured laneways, and soft coastal colours. It has a relaxed yet stylish feel that works beautifully for couples and families wanting something a little different.

City backdrops bring contrast and edge, with clean lines, architecture, and urban textures. This option is perfect if you are drawn to a more modern, editorial, or styled look.

Forest, Bushland, or the Perth Hills

Bushland and forest locations feel grounding, calm, and quietly magical. Tall trees, filtered light, and earthy tones create a sense of privacy and stillness that allows moments to unfold naturally.

The Perth Hills offer wide open views and changing seasonal colours. Winter brings lush greenery, while summer delivers warm golden tones. It is peaceful, spacious, and ideal if you love nature and softer textures.

The Swan River offers peaceful water, soft light, and gentle natural surroundings without needing to travel far. It is a beautiful option for both families and couples, offering space to move, explore, and relax while keeping a calm, timeless feel.

Within 2–3 weeks, you’ll receive a private online gallery filled with love-soaked, natural images, ready to download, share, and keep forever.

STEP FIVE: Print & Treasure
Want to turn your photos into something tangible? You’ll be able to order high-quality prints, frames, or albums directly from your gallery.
